Over one hundred visiting elective students and observers visit St. Johns each year from overseas, staying for 1-3 months on an average.
Elective student program or clerkship for overseas medical students
Elective students may rotate in any of the 45 departments (pre-clinical/para-clinical / clinical) of their choice, for a minimum duration of one week each. The total clerkship duration may not exceed 4 months.
Observers may rotate only in the department of Community Health. Pre-med students are accepted as observers for upto one month, whereas public health students may choose to remain for a longer duration in the department of Community Health, if they plan to assist with research.
Observe and participate in various health care services and activities at St. John’s Medical College Hospital
Interested students may apply for an elective / observership at St.John’s by online at least 6 months before their planned arrival, in order to complete necessary paperwork and obtain government and medical council permissions. Student accommodation is available on campus.
Apply Online through Online Admission Application form (Along with the required documents)
Wait for the Approval from the Admission Committee.
After Approval - Make the Course Fees payment (Online bank transfer)
Send the Payment Reference information to Admission office via email.
Download the relevant document from Admission Portal shared by Admission office for Visa Process.
Submit the VISA Copy to the Admission office via email. (elective.students@stjohns.in)
