Allied health professions have evolved rapidly over recent decades in response to the growing need for a health workforce with the capability to deliver specialized health services in a range of settings. Allied Health Science Courses at St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, run as a wing of St. John's Medical College and makes use of the infrastructure and the teaching faculty of medical college. Over 20 different related departments encompassing the pre clinical, para-clinical and clinical subjects, carry out the teaching and foster in-depth learning.
The allied health science courses were started as one year Diploma course in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) in 1974 with 10 seats a year. The two-year Diploma course in Radiology started in 1985 with 4 seats a year. Degree courses affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) were started in 1999 (B.Sc. in Medical laboratory technology, Medical Imaging technology, Renal Dialysis Technology and Cardiac Perfusion Technology).

ENTRANCE EXAM
Mode of Entrance Exam for all courses (B.Sc., BPT, M.Sc. MLT & MPT):
Paper-based exam with OMR marking.
Candidates are required to carry pen, pencil and eraser.
Exam Pattern: - Multiple choice questions with no negative marking.
Subjects for B.Sc. and BPT courses
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English for regular applicants.
Subjects for M.Sc. MLT courses
Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology of B.Sc MLT level and English.
Subjects for MPT Courses.

- Examination Hall, 4th floor, Golden Jubilee block, St. John’s Medical College, SJNAHS, Bengaluru-560034.
Time: 9.00 am. (Refer to Admission Calendar for date- section 6.2)
Candidates should be seated at the venue strictly by 8.30 am(half an hour prior to the scheduled time of examination) on the day of the examination.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy, M. Sc. MLT and MPT
· Interviews for the above batches will be conducted immediately after the Entrance exam as per the dates on the Admission calendar.
· Venue for interview: Dean’s Office, Ground Floor, St. John’s Medical College
· Time: 10.00 a.m
Date: Please refer admission calendar for the dates for the respective courses.
· Candidates for all the above courses who have uploaded scanned copies of certificates (including extracurricular activities ) will have to produce all the originals to the Admissions Office for verification.
MHA and Lateral Entry B.Sc Courses (Post Diploma)
Selections will be on the basis of Interview and/or performance in the qualifying exam. The candidates will be called for interview in batches on basis of the Preselection assessment of the application form.
DHA
DHA candidates will have only an interview on the scheduled date (on Entrance Test) and proceed immediately for Admission. Candidates attending the interview should come prepared for fee payment. (Refer 6.6 for chart)
Interview cum seat counselling
B.Sc. Courses
· There will be an interview cum seat counselling the day after the entrance examination. Candidates attending the interview cum seat counselling need to bring all original documents for verification and come prepared for fee payment and admission which will be done immediately as described below.
Based on the performance in the entrance exam marks a merit wise list of students for seat counselling (1st list) will be announced on the Institution website and on the Notice board in the evening on the day of the entrance examination.
The interview cum seat counselling is scheduled on the next day after the entrance examination (Refer section 6.2 for the dates). The allocation of seats is done at the interview cum counselling and the candidate will proceed for Admission immediately. Fee payment and admission procedures will have to be completed by 4.00 pm on the day of counselling in order to confirm the admission.
All seats not confirmed by 4.00 pm on Day 1 of the counselling will be added to the pool of pending seats and will be available for 2nd counselling the next day. The list of candidates for the 2nd round of counselling will be announced at 6 p.m on Day 1. The same procedure will be followed for the 2nd round counselling. In case of any pending seats 3rd round of counselling will be arranged, the details of which will be announced later.
